When people visit Los Angeles, one of the first places many want to go is Hollywood Boulevard, which features the Kodak Theater (the home of the Oscars), the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame.
It’s on the driving tour I’ve developed, but it’s definitely one of those places that you go to once to say that you’ve been and you really don’t have to go back. The sidewalk is a mash of tourists, wanna-be actors dressed up as celebrities and people peddling bus tours of the stars’ homes.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the Walk of Fame and selecting who has the honor of a brass star on the sidewalk. Celebrities from motion pictures, broadcast television, music, broadcast radio and live theater are honored. As of June 2011, 2,442 stars have been dedicated.
And the chamber announced earlier this week the honorees who will get a star in 2012.
I must admit it would be fun to go to a star ceremony!
